Marketing Intern – The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County
Compensation: $11 / hour (Part-time, 2-3 days a week, up to 250 hours)
Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Cultural Tourism, the Marketing Intern is a part-time, hourly position. Candidates must have superior communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. The environment is fast-paced and requires someone who can multi-task and meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. The position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work with Palm Beach County’s vibrant cultural sector.
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Assisting with marketing projects, including the Council’s annual MOSAIC (Month of Shows, Arts, Ideas and Culture) campaign
+ Event planning
+ Producing and distributing collateral materials
+ Meeting and presentation coordination
+ Submitting online calendar listings
+ Assisting with social media planning and coverage
Qualifications & Requirements
Skills & Abilities
+ Ability to work well within a team.
+ Exceptional writing skills; Proficient in grammar and spelling
+ Superior verbal communication skills and phone etiquette
+ Proficiency in social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram + Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
+ Comfortable learning to use new tools and programs
+ Some experience with Adobe software (InDesign & Photoshop), photography
Learning Goal: This internship is designed to give currently enrolled college students or recent college graduates the opportunity to work within a professional marketing team to gain real-world experience. By the end of the internship, the intern can expect to add one or more of the following to their portfolio of work: B2C advertising (print, radio and digital), special events and public relations, social media posts, visual samples (photography/videography), and writing samples.
